In all the craziness about making laws to handle opiate addiction, people forget those of us who live in chronic pain. We don’t tend to abuse medications and we have to jump through hoops that you wouldn’t believe just to get them.
Legislators pay lip service to providing medicines for terminally ill patients. But what about those of us that need medication to make life just bearable? The loss of those meds could become a terminal issue because those with no other options will take their lives to avoid continued existence without quality of life. As it is we’re grinding away day after day trying to get by juggling pain control and having a life. Take away any hope of pain relief and eventually our lives will end.
